Welcome to Up Mama Baby and Toddler Slings!
The
UpMama has
been loved by hundreds of parents for more than 4 years. I used slings for both of my children, now aged 9 and 5 (my very own conclusive evidence that babywearing makes great kids) but was really unhappy with the options available to me when my oldest was a baby. While pregnant with my 2nd child, I decided to create a better baby sling. I had the unique opportunity to have access to lots of new parents and babies due to my work in childbirth, breastfeeding, and postpartum depression education, which allowed me to receive feedback as my design evolved.
My focus was to adapt the designs of the ring sling (versatile but not user-friendly) and pouch (user-friendly but not versatile) to make a hybrid sling that is as accommodating as possible to first time users and newborns. I was thrilled to discover that the end result was a better baby carrier overall! It is equally functional and user-friendly weather the child is an infant in a cradle hold or a toddler on the hip. The UpMama Baby and Toddler Sling is a quality product that will not only make life easier, but also give new parents confidence that they are meeting their baby's needs in the most natural and convenient way possible.
Over the last 3 years the UpMama carrier
has allowed me to run a successful home based business on a small
enough scale to enjoy the privelige of being able to spend those
precious first years with our children. With them now both in school
we feel it is time to take the next step. I am
thrilled to have been able to outsource production to a respected
garment manufacturer in Toronto and as a result are thrilled to offer in stock slings and next day shipping!
Happy Babywearing!
